Music at Junction 50

Following the difficulties of the last 15 months Music @ Junction 50 is delighted to announce its 2021 programme.  There will be three concerts over the summer months in the lovely Church of St James,  Baldersby St James.

On June 30th at 7pm Ian Watt presents an evening of classical guitar music.  Described by Classical Guitar Magazine as “a guitarist of outstanding skill and originality”  Ian is a rising star in demand around the world.  A multi award winner in competitions he has performed with many major orchestras as a soloist and is often heard on radio stations in many countries.  Ian’s programme includes works by Sor, Grieg, Turina and de Falla.  The quiet voice of the guitar in the lovely atmosphere of the church promises an evening to remember.

Saturday July 24th at 11 am sees the return of local harpist Mary Reid who needs no introduction to Music @ Junction 50 audiences as she has played in in Baldersby a number of times. The enthusiasm and freshness she brings to every performance makes her always welcome.  In this shorter more informal coffee concert she will bring us pieces from composers such as Bach, Paganini and Salzedo.

To round off the series we welcome the Genovia Bassoon Quartet on Thursday 2nd September at 7pm who give us the chance  to hear four of these wonderful instruments play together which is not to be missed.  Each member of the quartet is a top orchestral player and together the music they make is joyous and a lot of fun.  They will take us on a whirlwind musical tour which will showcase items from various musical genres and will demonstrate the amazing versatility of the bassoon.

Tickets are available from: Sue Brown (Shop in Baldersby) 07840381558
